POLICE in the Long Sutton area are reminding motorists to ensure that their vehicles are left secure after four vehicles were broken into.

The first incident occurred between 10 and 10.30am on Saturday on St. James Road. The offender has smashed the front seat passenger window and grabbed a handbag that was hidden under a coat.

During the same time period, a white Volkswagen van, which was parked on Woad Lane had its driver window smashed. The offender reached into the cab and stole a Tom Tom 300 satellite navigation system.

On the same day, a vehicle in Lutton Bank, Lutton had its driver's window smashed another Tom Tom sat nav system was stolen.

Finally, overnight on Marsh Road, Gedney Drove End, another car had a window smashed and Tom Tom 300 sat nav system stolen.

A police spokesman said: "These offences highlight the importance of not leaving anything on sight in your vehicle

"A thief will very rarely pass up the opportunity when given to them. Unfortunately this happens all too often".
