VANDALS drove a car onto a playing field, churned up the surface and damaged football goal posts and netting.

The vehicle is believed to have been a Nissan Micra and the damage was caused between 5pm on Saturday, March 1, and noon the next day, at Gorefield Playing Field, in Wolf Lane, Gorefield.

Concrete fence posts were damaged where the car was driven onto the field and the vehicle was also driven into a tree, where it lost its front grill, before it was driven from the scene.

PC Sarah Sleaford, from Wisbech Police Station, said: "I am appealing for anyone who saw this incident take place to contact police.

"I would also urge anyone who has seen, or been asked to repair, a damaged Nissan Micra to get in touch."
