An uninsured driver who sped past officers and then fled the scene had his car seized by police officers.

A blue Peugeot 306 motor vehicle drove past officers at speed on New Drove, Wisbech last night (Thursday October 18).

Officers found the vehicle and the driver had decamped.

The vehicle was seized under section 165 for having no insurance.

The law on uninsured drivers states that police can give a fixed penalty of £300 and six penalty points if someone is caught driving a vehicle they are not insured to drive.
