The Umbrella Big Band will play for a ballroom dance in Prickwillow on Saturday March 17.

Come along to Hiam Sports and Social Club and dance or listen to the classic sounds of this band playing music from the 1920s through to the present day. Its saxophones, trumpets, trombones, rhythm section and singers will perform the best from the famous bands of Glen Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Joe Loss, The National Youth Jazz Orchestra and many more.

The group, which began as the University of Cambridge Engineering Department Big Band, has been playing in Cambridgeshire for over 50 years.

Tickets are £10 for members and £12 for non-members. To book phone Veronica on 07936 389296 or email the treasurer at info@hiam.org.uk. Tables can be reserved - ask when you book.

Doors open at 7pm and the dance runs from 8-11.45pm with two intervals and a raffle during the second interval. There will also be BBQ food on sale: locally produced burgers (including vegetarian) and jumbo sausages.
