TWO women, one in her 90s and the other in her 80s, were robbed as they did their weekly shopping in Whittlesey today.
Police are this afternoon going through CCTV footage to try and find out how purses came to be taken from the 91 year and 82 year old women.
Both crimes happened sometime between 9.30am and 10.25am at Somerfields in Blunts Lane.
Police say the women had placed their purses on shopping trolleys and when they went to pay the check out discovered someone had stolen them.
"The purses were inside handbags which were in turn in the store trolleys," said a police spokesman. "Someone has unzipped the handbags and removed the purses while the ladies were shopping."
