A LONG-standing dispute led to Daniel Howard and David Down smashing up a car with a bar from a dumb bell.

Windows, two door mirrors, and the headlights in William Siswick's Vauxhall Astra were broken, Fenland magistrates heard on Tuesday. The car's rear spoiler was also knocked off.

Howard, 18, of 52 Southwell Road, Wisbech, and Down, 21, of 40 Southwell Road, Wisbech, admitted causing £740 worth of damage to the car on August 18.

Both were given a two year conditional discharge and told to pay £370 compensation and £55 costs.
