TWO 17 year olds from London have appeared before magistrates following a robbery of a security guard on Saturday.

But police have not yet been able to trace a stolen cash box - believed to contain thousands of pounds- and are looking for at least one other suspect.

The robbery took place at 3.40pm at the height of the Straw Bear Festival in Whittlesey as a guard collected weekend takings from Somerfield supermarket.

He was attacked and robbed as he took the cash to his van.

Police called in the Cambridgeshire force helicopter to hunt for the robbers and one youth was arrested within the hour near the Sir Harry Smith Community College. A second suspect was arrested soon afterwards in the college grounds following a tip off from the school caretaker.
