A FENLAND school is set to be filled with the sound of music - following the launch of a new choir.

The Tilney All Saints V C Church School has launched a new choir under the direction of staff member Ellie Travers.

She will be assisted by the Rev John penny, husband of the East Marshland Benefice Vicar, the Rev Diana Penny, who suggested the formation of a choir.

Miss Travers arrived at the school keen to develop her enthusiasm for music.

She is an accomplished clarinettist and has played in the Albert Hall and Symphony Hall Birmingham as a member of the Northampton Youth Orchestra.

She said: "I am excited at this chance to be at the birth of Tilney All Saints School Choir, giving our children the same experiences that have had such an impact on moulding my own life.

"We have seen great enthusiasm already from the children who want to join Tilney All Saints School choir."

John Penny comes from a musical family. He plays the cello and has performed in concerts at Magdalen Church.

Jennie Rankin, acting head teacher, said: "I am proud to be working with excellent staff that form a strong team.

"Miss Travers has great enthusiasm and a deep love of music which will inspire the new choir.
