A seriously ill three-year-old girl from Wisbech had her wish granted to become a princess for the day.
“Happy and caring” Nadia Bartnik travelled to Leamington Spa with her family, where she had a royal makeover at the Raspberry Salon, thanks to the charity Rays of Sunshine.
The princess makeover included hair-styling and a manicure, before getting an exclusive ride around the town on a unicorn, courtesy of Kate Wingrove.
After her magical ride, the family was taken to Warwick Castle, where they were treated to a private tour of the castle and an overnight stay in the Rose Tower Suite in the 14th century Caesar’s Tower.
Nadia also received a visit from two of Disney’s most famous princesses, Anna and Elsa, from the 2013 film ‘Frozen’. They shared a princess tea with Nadia and read her bedtime stories.
Nadia’s mum, Ewa Lanuszna, said: “Thank you to Rays of Sunshine for a magical weekend.
“We all had an amazing time, especially Nadia who was one happy princess.
“A massive thank-you to everyone who helped this weekend and made it all so special.
“We are on our way home with big smiles on our faces.”
Nadia has acute lymphoblastic leukaemia - a rare cancer of the white blood cells which has resulted in her needing chemotherapy.
As a result of the treatment, she has a low immune system which restricts her from taking part in the typical activities of children her age as she is at high risk of infection.
Her wish was granted by Rays of Sunshine, which grants wishes, organises outings and large scale ents. For seriously ill children in the UK aged three to 18.
