THREE people arrested during police raids on scrap metal yards in Wisbech have been bailed.

Around 100 officers raided two properties at around 7am on Wednesday, July 14 following an 18 month investigation into illegal practices involving the scrap metal market.

Two men, aged 57 and 62, and one woman, aged 50, were arrested on suspicion of attempting to handle stolen goods and money laundering.

The 62-year-old man was bailed to return to March Police Station on September 22, whereas the woman and the 57-year-old man were bailed to return to March on August 25.

The operation was overseen by Deputy Chief Constable John Feavyour.
