AN eco-house built by celebrity handy-man Tommy Walsh is still up for grabs three months after a For Sale sign was placed outside.

Although a number of people have viewed the green property in Church Street, March, agents said that as yet, no-one has snapped up the unique house.

Mr Walsh of Ground Force fame, along with his team, built an eco-friendly home for £60,000 in 60 days on a site near to St Wendreda's Church, after purchasing a plot of land for £60,000.

The two-bed property is currently on the market for £180,000 and boosts an array of eco-friendly features which included using recycled materials, solar panels and under floor heating.

The property is open plan, with living and dining areas and a fully fitted kitchen. There is also a ground floor cloakroom and two double bedrooms.

All the furniture currently in the property can be bought as well, for an extra £7,000.

But the credit crunch and slowing housing market could be one of the factors which could have stalled the sale of the property.

Steve Willis, design and project manager, said: "The house is still up for sale and for a price of £180,000.

"There have been a lot of people who are curious about it, but we are planning to use other agents as well, who are further afield."

He said one of the key attractions of the house is the fact the cost of running it would be much cheaper than a conventional property, because of all the energy saving green features.

He added that the design of the house was now being used as a proto-type for the manufacturers Potton Homes.

And that more than 120 people had shown an interest in using the kit-house.
