Hundreds soaked up the sunshine and the sand as WisBEACH Day celebrated its annual transformation into a day at the seaside.
"Mums, dads, aunties, uncles, grannies, granddads, sisters, brothers, cousins, neighbours, friends - residents of Wisbech all enjoying a day together at Wis-Beach Day," was how the town council summed it up.
"Today was a brilliant event," was how one resident summed it up. "All the kids enjoyed the donkey rides, .sandpit, the slides and the day was about the children and having fun.
"Sunday is deemed a day of rest...a family day and that is what it was. -the car booters added a little for those walking around. A fab day"
Cllr Steve Tierney said the day had been organised with a team of volunteers who had put "many long hours into planning the events that take place.
"And the same volunteers put long hours into setting the events up, running them, and then putting it all away at the end of the day."
He said the working party that runs this and other community events should be thanked for their efforts: they hope more will come forward and offer to join the festivals working party.
