TO coincide with Wisbech’s historic Apple Day, the Horsefair Shopping Centre is calling on local gardeners and apple growers to enter their biggest fruits into its competition.
Entrants of all ages are being encouraged to find the biggest cooking apple from their trees to be in with a chance of winning some great prizes.
Apples entered will be weighed on Saturday morning from 9am at the Apple Day stall in the Market Place and the winner will be announced at 1pm.
The Horsefair’s new Holland and Barratt store has donated an apple themed hamper to one lucky winner.
Horsefair manager Kevin Smith said: “Apple Day is a fantastic annual celebration in Wisbech and the biggest apple competition should bring out the competitive side in growers in and around the town.”
