The husband and wife duo George and Jen Baines saw off a spirited challenge from Roy and Margaret Fox to win Sutton Bridge Golf Club’s Collins Cup.
In a busy period of competitions for club members, Gary Jordan and Mike Bell beat Sid and Peter Warner in the final of the Fenmans Cup club pairs knockout competition.
The past captain’s side claimed bragging rights over Sutton Bridge, winning 4-1, and the seniors lost 5-3 to Burghley Park.
The club reaches a significant milestone next year when it celebrates it’s 100th anniversary.
Author Norman Davis has written a book to chart the club’s history and a host of events are planned to commemorate the landmark.
