Street Pride members in Tydd St Giles have branched out from their regular litter-picking and given the village a few extra splashes of colour.
The group has planted three wooden barrels with flowers and placed two of them in a prominent spot next to the village sign. The third will be sited in Broad Drove East.
They have also refurbished the benches near the sign.
Chris Hodder, the group’s chairman, said: “We decided at our first AGM in the summer to add some flower-planting to our normal litterpicks.
“The barrels look really nice and we’re now thinking of getting some more. We’re grateful to Carrick Cooperage, the company that supplied them, for agreeing to give us a 25 per cent discount because we’re a volunteer group.”
