AN exhibition of fashion, furniture art and design was held at the College of West Anglia's Isle Campus in Wisbech last week.

The exhibition has been held at the campus annually since 1980.

It featured work from students, mostly aged 16 and 17, who had studied art, art and design, fashion and clothing, graphic design, photography and furniture making.

The exhibition celebrates the successes of the students completing their studies this year.

Jayne Walpole, head of Faculty Arts at the college, said: "The exhibition was very well supported.

"We had a private viewing on Monday for guests of the students, people from different industries and schools, and about 250 people turned up. It was then open to the public for the rest of the week."

She added: "This exhibition has expanded as the college has grown and the work exhibited has become broader.

"Some of the students displaying work have previously won national awards and we are expecting more nominations from this exhibition.

"Some very imaginative and professional work has been produced and the students should be incredibly proud of their efforts.

"A large percentage of these students will now be going on to university places.
