CHILDREN will shine bright on their walk to school after a Wisbech optician presented them with high-visibility vests.

Youngsters from Peckover Primary School were among those to receive the vests from the town’s Specsavers store, in Market Place.

Mike Avery, store director, said: “With such dark mornings and nights, we wanted to play our part in helping the area’s youngsters to keep themselves safe.

“After speaking to staff members and parents, we all agreed that school pupils would welcome a donation of hi-vis vests for their walk to school, as well as walking bus schemes or even class outings.”

Specsavers has campaigned throughout the last decade to highlight the link between vision and road safety.
