Achievements of young members of Wisbech Army Cadet Force were recognised at an awards ceremony.

Major Neil Oswin, cadet executive officer of Cambridge­shire ACF, rewarded the youngsters for their hard work throughout the year at the event which coincided with the detachment's annual efficiency inspection. The unit passed with flying colours.

Top cadet Lieutenant Corporal Markos Mylozis, 15, was awarded the British Canoe Union Certificate and the one star certificate and badge of the national cadet training syllabus.

Damien Warby, 13, received the cup for most improved cadet, while also getting his first aid heart start certificate.

One star ACF certificates and badges were given to Lieutenant Corporals Jay Bindley, 14, Karl Durrington, 14, and Jack Woodcock, 14, together with Cadets Andrew Rust, 14, and Rebecca Birch, 13.

Young Cadets achieving basic level qualifications were Thomas Magor, 14, and Paul Haddakin, 14.
