Youngsters from Wisbech were among 85 Army Cadets who took part in a Christmas training camp organised by the Army Cadet Force at Waterbeach.
Senior cadets took part in local training with a military theme, while 47 of the junior cadets enjoyed a day out at the Imperial War Museum at nearby Duxford.
Taking part were Cadets Rebecca Burch, 12, and Lauren Stewart, 12, both from Wisbech, who joined the cadets just three months ago.
"I'm really glad I joined," said Rebecca. "You can do so much with your friends and not get bored like other kids."
During the camp Rebecca Hare-Mitcham, 15, of Wisbech, won promotion to Lance Corporal and the Young Achiever of the Year award for her swimming skills. Also promoted to Lance Corporal was James Humphries, 14, from Wisbech. Adult instructor Maria Beadle, of Wisbech, was promoted to Colour Sergeant.
