FACED with a financial crisis, shoplifter Jonathan Holmes stole over £60 worth of shampoo from the Boots store in Wisbech within four days.
On September 16, staff saw Holmes in the Horsefair premises with his jacket bulging, and then realised 11 bottles of shampoo worth over £25 were missing.
And four days later Holmes was back in the shop, and stole another 14 bottles of shampoo worth almost £40.
"For the first time he had got independent accommodation and had to pay a £55 deposit," solicitor Anita Waterman explained to Fenland magistrates on Tuesday.
"He is an habitual shoplifter, and was facing a financial crisis, having no money for food."
Holmes sold the shampoo for £20.
Sentencing was adjourned until October 17 and the court banned Holmes from the Boots store as a condition of his bail.
