THE first man in the county to be charged with sex trafficking has been committed for trial at Peterborough Crown Court.
Peteris Kalva, 38, of Cherry Road, Wisbech, now faces two charges, alleged to have been committed between July 24 and August 25, in connection with the controlling of prostitution.
The first charge accuses Kalva of intentionally arranging travel within the UK of a female, and the second charge accuses him of intentionally facilitating the same woman's travel within the UK.
Kalva is due to appear at the Peterborough court for a preliminary hearing on November 16, and was further remanded in custody by Fenland magistrates on Tuesday.
