VISITORS to a village flower and produce show were seeing red on Saturday when the Walpole Gardeners Club staged its sixth annual show. But they were angry at all. In fact they were delighted. The colour red was the theme for this years Floral Art class.
VISITORS to a village flower and produce show were seeing red on Saturday when the Walpole Gardeners Club staged its sixth annual show.
But they were angry at all. In fact they were delighted. The colour red was the theme for this years Floral Art class. There were also other classes for fruit, vegetables, bread, cakes and home-made preserves.
The exhibits for the show were judged on Saturday morning and on display at Walpole St Peter Parish Hall until produce was sold off at the end of the day.
Along with a tombola, plant stall, book stall and teas served in the hall, the sale of goods raised money to support club funds.
Artists were invited to contribute the painting of a bowl of fruit, while the children's classes included making a picture from seeds, making an animal from a vegetable, creating a garden in a half seed tray and making chocolate crispy cakes.
