Rock Choir members in and around Peterborough are celebrating their 10th anniversary and a new leader.

It’s been 10 years since the Peterborough branch launched in the area and alongside that celebration, they’re now happy to welcome a new leader for Peterborough, Sally Rose.

She is a qualified award-winning vocalist, experienced performer and music leader.

She’s performed all over the UK at festivals and venues and she has led vocal workshops throughout Cambridgeshire for people with disabilities and Parkinson’s disease.

In addition to her new role with Rock Choir, locally she is the conductor and vocal tutor for the Starter Band and pupils at West Norfolk Music Centre.

Sally has also begun teaching the rock choir groups in Wisbech, King’s Lynn and Downham Market.

She’s has joined them just in time to help the members in the King’s Lynn and Peterborough region to celebrate their 10th year anniversary and train them up for a gig at the Birmingham NEC in December 2023.

She is just one of more than 80 professional musicians who teach the rock choirs with a wealth of experience.

Sally said: “This is a dream role for me and I can’t tell you how excited I am to deliver the Rock Choir experience in and around Wisbech, Downham Market, King’s Lynn and Peterborough.

“I have lots of plans for my rock choir members. We will have live performances and of course we’ll be getting involved in the local community to raise much needed funds for projects and charities in our area.

“Teaching the rock choir repertoire is pure joy. members leave feeling uplifted, happy and all through the power of group singing.

“It’s also a mood enhancing, natural high and a chance to make friends and socialise with like-minded people.

“Come along for a free taster session and it could be just the thing you’re looking for. Everyone is welcome.”
