MONTHS of anticipation finally ended on Monday when the doors reopened at the revamped 2.5million Wisbech Library.
The library has been extended and remodelled at ground and first floor level. There is a new learning centre, a community room, an IT suite offering flexible learning and much better facilities throughout.
It will also house special collections, such as the Lilian Ream Collection of photographs.
The majority of funding came from a 2million Big Lottery grant through its Community Libraries programme, to transform Wisbech Library into a hub for community learning.
Further funding came from Cambridgeshire County Council, the National Lottery and the East of England Development Agency.
