HIGHWAYS chiefs have thanked Wisbech residents for their help in making a difficult resurfacing job go smoothly.
Cambridgeshire County Council resurfaced the narrow John Thompson Road and Cannon Street over two weeks.
"Residents played their part by making sure there were no vehicles parked on either of the roads during the works," said Charlie Bedford, highways supervisor. "The roads are often busy and have lots of parked cars.
"Residents were very understanding and made sure we could carry out the work as quickly and smoothly as possible.
"We would just like to thank all those who made sure the streets were free of vehicles. It was much appreciated, and made the work much easier to complete.
