THE PEOPLE of Gorefield have underlined their determination to keep the village clean by starting a Street Pride Group.

The new group aims to keep litter off the streets as well as improve the overall appearance of the Fenland village.

Residents have already gathered to take part in a litter-picking morning, and it is hoped that new bulbs will be planted in upcoming months.

Street Pride Co-ordinator, Jeanette Milner, said: “We put in a good morning’s litter picking and we are going to hold further events soon.

“Gorefield is a beautiful little village and it’s good to contribute to keeping it that way.”

Anyone wishing to take part in street pride can join volunteers at Gorefield playing fields on November 6 at 10am.
