RANGER guides were so grateful for the life saving care their leader received at Addenbrooke’s Hospital that they set about raising cash for its critical care unit.
Leader Delia Swann was treated at the unit after a car accident, and hopes the 650 raised by the Rangers will help save the lives of others.
Members of the 3rd Wisbech Senior Section raised the money for the Cambridge hospital through a sponsored walk. A cheque was handed over by Delia, and received by nurse Hannah Christmas.
Deputy Mayor of Wisbech, Councillor Jonathan Farmer and his wife Susanah attended the presentation, along with Delia’s husband and parents.
Cllr Farmer said: “This was an outstanding effort by those who took part in the walk, and I am sure the money will be put to good use.”
