Jason Smith and his family set up the raffle to bring in funds following the death of Sidney Smith, 64, well known in the area for running a stall at Wisbech car boot sale.

It is for a Honda 250 quad bike worth around £1,200 and tickets are £25 each.

Jason said: “My dad was a traveller and is really well known in the area.

“He was a much loved man, our dad, and a grandad to three with two more grandchildren on the way.

“He ran the Dyson and lawnmower stall at Wisbech car boot sale - he was the man near the ice cream van, a lot of people knew him.

“We are expecting a lot of people from all over to come for the funeral.

“The quad bike is something in the family but we all decided it would be better selling it than keeping.”

Mr Smith, who lived at Bar Drove, Friday Bridge, died of COPD, which he was diagnosed with about seven months ago.

He leaves wife Lynda, son Jason, daughters Sylvie and Kelly and three grand children.

• The funeral is at Upwell Church on Thursday 30 November at 2pm. To buy a ticket contact Jason on Facebook or 07566-201546.
