The director of the Eastern and South Eastern Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) visited the Wisbech branch to unveil its new sign and club last month.

Director Ailsa Gough was joined by NE Cambs MP Steve Barclay to officially open the ‘De Havilland Club’ with manager, Steve Webb. The club will be used as a space for social events.

The association is open to serving and retired members of the RAF and to those who support the aims of the association, which are to support the RAFA Benevolent Fund and other RAF charities.

A spokesman said: “We believe every generation owes a debt of gratitude to the RAF and their families.

“To protect the peace and safety we enjoy every day, they sacrifice the normal way of life most people take for granted. When someone in the RAF family needs help, the charity they turn to is the Royal Air Forces Association.”
