A VISIT from Pudsey helped inspire Orchards Church of England Primary School's pupils to raise hundreds of pounds for Children in Need.

The children came into school wearing spotty clothes, baked cakes, decorated biscuits and took part in a colouring competition in support of the charity.

Pudsey interrupted the Celebration assembly and caused havoc, much to the amusement of the pupils.

Jaynie Lynch, Deputy Head and the day’s main organiser, said; “Pudsey was extremely cheeky. He tried to steal cakes and was messing around when he should have been listening nicely.

“Organising the day was a lot of work, however it was made easier through the support of the staff and School Council reps.”

The total raised through the various activities was £371.35.

Head Teacher, Nicola Parker, said: “The children once again amazed me with their commitment and generosity.”

She added: “I must say a huge thanks to Miss Lynch for organising the day and Asda for their support.”
