A Cambridgeshire police officer has been given anonymity ahead of a disciplinary hearing after being convicted of drink driving and failing to stop for police following an incident before Christmas in Northamptonshire.
A statement from Cambs police today confirmed that a ‘private special case hearing’ will take place in Huntingdon on February 9.
“The officer, who has been granted anonymity by the chair, will attend the private hearing at police headquarters,” said the statement.
“It is alleged the officer has breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct.”
The statement says that on January 4 the officer was convicted of driving with excess alcohol, failing to stop for police and driving without due care and attention following an incident in Northamptonshire on December 16.
“The hearing is to be held in private,” says the statement. “Members of public or media will not be able to attend.”
