A team of Prince’s Trust participants joined forces with firefighters on Friday to soap up dozens of dirty cars at Wisbech Fire Station.

The car wash raised £175, of which a percentage has been donated to The Fire Fighters Charity. The remainder of the cash has been added to the team’s £327 raised at a supermarket bag pack and will go towards funding a community project aimed at sprucing up Wisbech’s Oasis Centre.

The Prince’s Trust Team programme is a 12-week personal development course which aims to increase confidence, motivation and skills, enabling young people to gain employment, move into education or undertake training or an apprenticeship.

Steve Lucas, Prince’s Trust team leader, said: “Friday was lot of fun and the Team participants really had a good time getting their hands soapy.

“We’d like to thank the firefighters for helping out and to all the generous members of the public who supported our fundraising events last week.”
