POLICE have today released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the attempted robbery at Londis in Wisbech.

The offender entered the Tinker’s Drove shop between 3.10pm and 4pm on Sunday (January 16). He threatened shopkeeper Mukesh Patel with a weapon and demanded cash.

Mr Patel, 56, grabbed the offender’s hand as he brandished a saw with a 12in blade and then chased him out of the store.

Det Con Tony Harlow said: “I would like to speak to anyone who recognises the man pictured on CCTV as we believe he may have vital information to assist our investigation.

“He is wearing quite a distinctive zip-up top and I would appeal to anyone who recognises it to call police.”
