A car was seized in Wisbech at the weekend after the driver sped off from police officers before abandoning his vehicle.
Officers from the Road Policing Unit located the car on Saturday evening using automatic number plate recognition technology – it showed that the vehicle had no MOT.
It then made off from police resulting in a short pursuit and, after a temporary loss the RPU officers along with Wisbech Neighbourhood Police located the car.
It had been abandoned by the driver and was seized as a result.
Police said on social media: “A costly night for the driver of this vehicle and potentially another unsafe car off the road.”
