A DISPERSAL order has been launched in parts of Terrington St Clements to prevent anti-social behaviour.

This dispersal order gives police and PCSOs the power to deal with nuisance and rowdy behaviour in Churchgate Way, Benns Lane and Park areas of the village.

Sgt Sam Pontin said: "The Dispersal Order does not stop people using the areas defined, which are for the use of everyone in the village.

"If the areas are used responsibly then the police will not get called and there would be no requirement to disperse anybody."

If areas are being used irresponsibly groups will be moved on. Anyone moved on will not be allowed to return to the area for 24 hours.

The order will be in force until April.
