AN ILLEGAL brothel has been closed down in Wisbech after police executed a warrant.

It was carried out at an address in Lynn Road on Tuesday, following intelligence received by Norfolk Constabulary from the community.

Officers from the Watlington Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) took part in the warrant led by Det Sgt Stuart Bailey.

A search of the property led to a number of paper documents being seized by officers and a 37-year-old female was arrested at the property.

She has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Sgt Scott Hemeter, from the Watlington SNT, said: "Norfolk Constabulary takes a firm line against the sexual exploitation of women and members of the public can be reassured that any information passed onto us will be acted on.
