AN application to expand a residential care home and create buildings to accommodate adults with mental and physical disabilities has been turned down.
Barchester Health Care Ltd, wanted to build two units to accommodate up to 28 people with a variety of complex needs at their existing elderly care home, Hickathrift House, in Smeeth Road, Marshland St James.
However, the application brought a number of objections from local residents and planners at West Norfolk Borough Council have turned down the plans, labelling the development as unsuitable for the area.
