A WOMAN who spent £265 on a planning application to be allowed to get rid of an orchard has been told it must stay.
Jayne Moreton wanted to use the 4,800 square metre orchard at her, appropriately named, Orchard Cottage, Bevis Lane, Wisbech St Mary, as a garden.
However, Fenland planners have ruled that the proposed change of use "will result in a change to the character and appearance of the open countryside".
