FENLAND councillors went against their officers' recommendations and allowed a bungalow in Wisbech.
Officers had said that proposals for the three-bedroom bungalow, on land behind homes in Norwich Road and Boyces Road, would fail to respect the character of nearby homes and cause harm by increasing noise levels.
They also judged that the plans would create hazardous conditions for pedestrians and vehicles using Norwich Road and Boyces Road, with the access road just yards from the junction between the two roads.
But councillors said that the development would not be out of character and granted permission.
