PENSIONER James Lee has been charged with creating a bomb hoax in Wisbech by giving false information to the police.
It is alleged that 65-year-old Lee claimed that something liable to explode or ignite was in the town on September 9.
Lee is accused of contacting police with false information, intending to make someone believe it was true.
Magistrates have declined jurisdiction over the case, and Lee, of New Drove, Wisbech, is due to committed for trial before Cambridge Crown Court. Fenland magistrates gave him conditional bail until that hearing in Wisbech courthouse on November 24.
