Green light given for Peckover’s 52-place nursery
PUBLISHED: 16:29 05 June 2018
Peckover Primary School in Wisbech has been granted permission to develop a 52-place nursery on its site.
The Department for Education has given the go-ahead for the project and planning permission is now being sought from Fenland District Council.
The school held consultations with parents about the proposal, which will initially be for children from the age of three.
There are also plans to develop a ‘pastoral base’ so that Peckover Primary School can ‘provide integrated services’ for students and their families.
Peckover’s principal Carrie Norman said: “This is a really exciting project. At the moment we don’t have any nursery provision so this will be a whole new area of expertise that we will be developing.
“The nearest nursery is on the other side of town so that presents problems to parents dropping children off at two different sites.
“It will be lovely to be able to offer nursery facilities here. It will make a big difference to parents and also means that students will have a seamless transition from nursery to school. T
“This is very good news for our school and we are all really excited.’
