A village car show has been hailed a success after raising £15,000 for good causes.

More than 3,000 people attended the Parson Drove Custom and Classic, Car, Bike and Trike Show, which was held on July 14/15.

Hundreds of cars lined the Parson Drove Playing Field at the event which also included stalls, rides and live music.

Funds raised from the show have been split between the village hall, Wisbech Lions, MAGPAS and the East Anglian air Ambulance.

The event has raised more then £70,000 for the charities in the 12 years it has been running.

Team leader Roger Reader said: “It was very hot but an excellent weekend.”

It was the last event Mr Reader organised as team leader after stepping down from the position and handing it over to Martin Hammond.

He added: “I would like to thank everybody for making it a success and also our sponsors.”
