MAY Day Bank Holiday is here for another year - and with it come events for all the family to enjoy on a budget. Here are 10 ideas from reporter, Tom Jackson.

1. This weekend sees the end of a four-week exhibition at the Angles Theatre in Wisbech, called Seashores and Secrets.

All the work is by Karen Radenkova, of Wisbech. The exhibition remains open until Sunday.

2. Sunday marks the fourth running of the Grand East Anglia Run in King's Lynn. The 10k road race starts in the Tuesday Market Place at 10.30am, so go along and cheer on the runners.

3. Aviation enthusiasts are gearing up for Monday's Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre's American Air Day.

P-51 Mustangs and DC-3 Dakotas will take to the skies at the event, at East Kirkby near Spilsby from 10am-5pm.

4. The usual car boot sales take place across the Fens. Same times, same places. Admission is cheap as chips and, you never know, you might just walk away with a few bargains.

5. Sport doesn't stop for the Bank Holiday - tomorrow (Saturday), Wisbech Town host Wroxham and March Town United host Debenham LC as the football season draws to a close. The cricket season is also in full swing.

6. Look at the Fens through a lens at Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery, with a selection of amateur pictures capturing the beauty of nature reserves. It opens on Sunday and runs until May 31.

7. The famous Ely Eel Day takes place tomorrow from 10.30am-4pm. A procession starts at 10.30am from Cross Green, followed by activities in Jubilee Gardens.

8. Staying in Ely, there's coded ornithology with artist Lyndall Phelps, at the city's Babylon Gallery until May 11.

It's open from 10am-5pm Saturday and 11am-5pm Sunday and Bank Holidays.

9. Under-16s and over-60s can now enjoy free swimming at Fenland District Council's three swimming pools in March, Whittlesey and Wisbech during general public swimming lessons.

To access the free swimming initiative everyone living within the district will need a valid leisure card. Those without a card can get one from any leisure centre for �1.

10. Pop along to Huntingdon or Cambridge and see progress on the �115million guided bus way.

It is already the longest track of its kind in the world and when it opens in late summer, people will be able to travel traffic-free from the new St Ives Park and Ride to the Science Park in Cambridge in 20 minutes.
