AFTER enjoying a trip to Wisbech courthouse last week, pupils at Elm Road Primary School were given some tips on court reporting from Wisbech Standard journalist Elaine King.
The Year 6 students have been writing up their experiences in the courtroom, where they witnessed mock trials from 1905 and the present day.
Throughout their day in court, the pupils made notes, and then wrote newspaper style reports about the court cases they watched; including a young girl stealing meat at the turn of the century.
Elaine said: "I was very impressed with the children's articles, they used plenty of detail, and gave information from the prosecution and the defence.
