Members of the Orchard House Care Home in Wisbech appeared at the town’s Tesco store last week as part of an organised visit.
The visit, planned by the community champion from the store, Heidi Mote, took place on March 27.
Residents participated in various food activities, including making bread and tasting different fruits, cheeses and hams.
At the end of their trip, they were able to take back freshly-made hot cross buns to the home to show fellow residents what they were missing out on.
Speaking on the event, Mote said: “The residents who came had a wonderful time.”
Orchard House is a privately owned care home that holds 67 residents and is dedicated to caring for adults who are over 65.
The home provides general care for those suffering with illnesses such as dementia, mental and physical disabilities.
Specialist care is also provided to patients who suffer with symptoms from illnesses such as Alzheimer’s, speech impairment and Motor Neurone Disease.
