One person has died and a female casualty was airlifted to hospital after a collision between a car and a van at Black Drove, Murrow, this morning (November 9).
A third person was treated at the scene for injuries.
Magpas doctor Richard Booker and paramedic Steve Chambers landed on the A47 near Wisbech via the Magpas Air Ambulance at 7.40am. They had been called to a serious collision between a car and van.
A woman in her 20s was seriously injured. The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed one of the patients who had sustained multiple serious injuries. They gave her a general anaesthetic at the scene, placing her into a medically induced coma (providing her with A&E level care) before airlifting her to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
The Magpas Air Ambulance helicopter crew who flew the Magpas medical team and patient were pilot Andy Figg and crew member George Phillips.
East Anglian Air Ambulance treated another patient involved in the incident.
An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Cambridgeshire Police and the Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
