Students and staff at a Wisbech school baked cakes and biscuits for a charity event to raise money for a cancer charity.
Guests included parents and carers and representatives from Cambridgeshire County district teams who work alongside the school in supporting learners.
A spokesman for the Octavia Academy said: “There was a fantastic atmosphere, leaners took part in games and competitions, helped decorate the room and served tea and coffee to guests.
“We were really proud of them.
“Staff ‘Bake off’ winner was Amber Doyle our business support professional, who baked a fabulous green Macmillan cake.
“We raised £70 in the hour and are having a non uniform day at the end of the month to hopefully push the total up.”
Octavia AP Academy supports up to 35 secondary learners who have experienced difficulties with their learning and behaviour in mainstream school.
Learners are taught in small, well supported groups and as well as traditional learning programmes benefit from an enrichment programme that gives them the opportunity to explore healthy lifestyles and to experience activities that encourages team building.
