THIRTY Five people from Colebourne Primary School, Birmingham, visited Octavia Hill’s Birthplace House, Wisbech.

They are the latest to get involved with Octavia Hill ‘Our Place’ Centenary project which aims recruit 100 schools from across the world by 2012. The project encourages children to look at their environment and create their own special place.

The children were given a tray of Octavia Hill geraniums and an Octavia Hill rose by Wisbech in Bloom chairman, Brian Massingham.

During the day the Birmingham children dropped into St Peter’s school to learn about their Our Place garden which includes an area of recreated Fen.

On August 8 members of the Octavia Hill Society will be visiting Birmingham to look at Octavia Hill’s legacy there.
