An annual scheme offering grants of up to £5,000 to local charities and community groups has been launched by the Nottingham Building Society.

The Nottingham, which has branches across Norfolk and Cambridgeshire including in Dereham, Fakenham, Thetford and Wisbech, is launching the Grants for Goods initiative for a second year after it helped almost 4,800 people in 2017.

It aims to support communities across the company's 11 trading counties, focusing on groups involved in education, financial security, tackling homelessness and poverty, and employability, and will be supported with a radio campaign from Global Radio.

David Marlow, chief executive of The Nottingham, said: 'I am so proud that we have supported so many local groups that make a real difference in their respective communities.'

The final date for applications is Friday, May 31. See www.thenottingham.com.
