Get rid of your drama and visit a llama is the message from a woman who wants to open up her small holding so people can visit if they need to chill out or need inspiration.
Tina Gambell, who owns nine llamas, has set up a Crowdfunding page to raise £1,000 needed to transform an area of her paddock into a space that is wheelchair friendly with seating areas and toilet facilities.
Tina, who works part time as a PA, said: “I’m hoping this will be a boost for the local community and visitors from further afield.
“I’m just spreading the llama love, it has been therapeutically proven that llamas lower cholesterol, lower anxiety, lower depression.
“The benefits of being around llamas are so positive.
“I want to open up the land to give people a space where they can sit, relax, unwind, so it becomes a creative location.
“Maybe you have a muddy mind, you want to draw, have a business plan that you are struggling with and just cant concentrate, are suffering with panic or depression, then come to the paddock and spend time with the llamas to slow your mind and enjoy the peace of these lovely creatures.
“There’s a lot of troubles in modern life, so many stresses that people suffer. Being around llamas can help.
One paddock runs alongside the perimeter of Tina’s home and the road.
There is a large mound which the llamas love to play on at her home at West Walton, she said, which provides them with a fantastic view of their surroundings and gives passing traffic a view of them.
“People walking along the road regularly stop to watch the llamas, but the traffic is very fast along Walton Road, and there is no pavement.
“We want people to be able to come in and see them close up.”
• Tina plans for it to be open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and at weekends from 7am to 7pm. It will be free of charge.
